Shirt Weaves

Our different shirt weaves explained

Oxford Shirts

This classic style of shirt is known for its basket-weave structure and luxurious look. An Oxford shirt feels thicker and more substantial than other weaves.
An Oxford shirt traditionally has a button-down collar.

Herringbone Weave

The fine zigzag pattern produces the iconic herringbone weave.
Herringbone fabric is medium weight and has a soft, silky feel.

Plain Weave Shirts

Plain Weave cotton is a totally flat fabric. The material has little to no structure so it feels very light and smooth to the touch.

Plain weave shirts are ideal for warmer climates and hot summer days as they breathe and allow the air to circulate around the body.

Twill Weave

The twill weave has an iconic continuous diagonal pattern and soft sheen. The twill weave feels soft and light to the touch.

Twill weave shirts are very popular for weddings as they are light but still very classy looking and keep the wearer cool. They also photograph very well and retain their appearance for the duration of the day.

Dobby Weave

Dobby weave cotton is similar to Oxford as it has a basket-weave structure. This type of weave adds thickness to the fabric without adding weight.

The dobby weave looks great as an every-day office shirt and also looks very stylish as a more casual shirt with a button-down collar and worn open-neck.
